A Note from Spinks & Co…
At Spinks & Co Residential we are observing a definite upswing in the Brisbane market following the booms in Sydney and Melbourne. Other forces, including the lower Australian Dollar and the recently announced record low rates of 1.5%, are contributing to high auction clearance rates and properties achieving excellent sale prices. Tightly held stock during the winter months is creating increased competition for properties listed on the market and we are expecting August to produce some fine results and create real momentum for the Spring Selling Season which will soon be upon us.
On that note, we are proud to present a spectacular new listing to the market. High on style and low on maintenance, this executive residence is ideal for empty nesters looking to downsize from their large tennis court properties or those considering the luxury of an inner-city apartment but don’t wish to compromise on space or privacy….

We are sad to report that Australia’s Olympic tennis campaign has come to an end after the first-round elimination of Samantha Stosur and John Peers in the mixed doubles. Both Stosur and Peers mounted a strong challenge but unfortunately were beaten 7-5 6-4 by Indian fourth seeds Sania Mirz and Rohan Bopanna at the Olympic Tennis Centre.
On a more positive note, Stosur achieved her best ever Olympic result, making it to the third round in Rio before being defeated by World No. 2 Angelique Kerber in the Women’s Singles. John Millman excelled in his Olympic debut, defeating opponent Ricardis Berankis 6-0,6-0 and advancing to the second round where he was ultimately defeated by fourth seed Kei Nishikori of Japan.
In tennis news closer to home, Sydney will host the Davis Cup home tie between Australia and Slovakia in September. Tickets go on sale Monday August 15.
